black swan and its precedents

Here's a longish side-by-side comparison of Black Swan and The Red Shoes on cinemafunk.com. Man, I had fun writing it. To be honest, I'm not even sure my argument is correct, but I will say this: There is something really obsessively crazy/quite possibly sexual in just about every face Anton Walbrook makes in The Red Shoes, and I defy you to come up with a better explanation as to why.
