My review of Thor is up on CinemaFunk.com. I must say, it's a little disheartening when even Kenneth Branagh can't make a good dramatic film. But, on the other hand, I feel sympathy for him: Turning comics into decent movies for adults is tough stuff. For one, costumes, hair, and super powers that look cool on the page are almost impossible to recreate in a way that doesn't look goofy and kind of inelegant. But that's not really the problem here. Instead, as I detail in the article, there's a kind of muddy unclarity about the characters, and the script is always trying to substantiate things that don't make much sense.
